Tax Seminar at HKICPA
Mr. Angus Ho, Partner of Tax and Business Advisory and Ms. Janice Or, Manager of Tax and Business, were invited to speak in a seminar, organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), on the topic of “Tax Considerations for Important Business Decisions”, on 23 February 2012. The seminar provided a broad overview on the correlation between substantial business decisions and relevant Hong Kong Tax consequences. It also explored how to mitigate tax risks associated with important business decisions in the current volatile economic cycle.

Initial public offering seminar at HKICS
Mr. Andy Wong, Partner, was invited to speak in a seminar, organized by The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS), on the topic of "Keys for successful IPO in Hong Kong”, on 24 February 2012. The seminar included an overview of the companies listed in Hong Kong and a detailed explanation on the listing rules and regulations which lay the foundation for a successful IPO.

Ms. Anita Hou, Partner of Specialist Advisory Services, and Mr. Matthew Chu, Senior Manager of Specialist Advisory Services, were invited to speak in a seminar, organized by The Hong Kong Baptist University Society of Accountancy, on the topic of “An Insight into the world of Forensic Accounting”, on 24 February 2012. In recent years, more and more scandals in the accounting industry have been disclosed by the media and they have caught the public attention. Under this situation, forensic accounting emerges. The seminar gave students an insight into forensic accounting and some sharings on their working experience.

Mr. Barry Ip, Managing Partner and Mr. Arthur Pang, Partner, were invited to speak in a seminar, organized by Nagamine and Mishima, on the topic of “IPO in Hong Kong”, on 15 March 2012 in Japan. This accounting firm has been assisting foreign-affiliated companies expand their business operations in Japan by providing expertise in the areas of tax and accounting since 1989. The seminar included overview on several areas of company listed in Hong Kong, including pre-listing consideration, basic requirements for listing, the listing process, common problems and post-listing obligations.
